Advances in Heat and Mass Transfer

Proceedings of the 13 Australasian Heat and Mass Transfer Conference (13AHMTC)

Nima Nadim | Ramesh Narayanaswamy

Technology & Engineering / Mechanical

The Australasian Heat and Mass Transfer Conference, primarily supported by the Australasian Fluid and Thermal Engineering Society (ASFTES), an authorised society of Engineers Australia, is the longest-running specialised forum in thermal sciences in the region, with a history dating back to 1973.

All papers included in this volume have undergone a rigorous blind peer-review process, ensuring both technical quality and editorial suitability. The selected contributions cover a broad range of contemporary topics, including experimental methods, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), natural convection, nanofluids, multiphase flow, mass diffusion, and electrohydrodynamic (EDH).

This proceedings volume contributes to a formal archival publication in the AHMTC series and serves as an official compendium for the conference. It is intended for researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students, working in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and related thermal-science disciplines.

Dr Nima Nadim is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (Thermo-Fluids) at Curtin University, where he has been an academic staff member since 2012. He holds Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees, followed by a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on heat and mass transfer and complex flow systems, with particular emphasis on multiphase and phase-change phenomena, including boiling, granular and packed-bed systems, electrohydrodynamic flows, and emerging plasma-based thermal technologies.

Professor Ramesh Narayanaswamy is currently a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, Australia. His research interests cover both computational and experimental heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
