Monika Sinha is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. She earned her PhD in Physics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, in 2006. Before joining the IIT Jodhpur, she worked as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow in the Institute of Theoretical Physics, J.W. Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. Prior to that, she worked as Centenary Fellow in the Department of Physics, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, Karnataka, India, for one year. She was also a Research Associate in the Theory Division of the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, India, for three years. She did her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Burdwan in 1998 and 2000, respectively. She was awarded a gold medal for securing the first position in her bachelor’s. She got the CSIR-NET(JRF) fellowship in 2000. Her fields of interest are interface of nuclear-particle physics and astrophysics, compact stellar objects composed of highly dense matter, and applications of dense matter model to the astrophysical observables, including pulsars, magentars, and X-ray binaries.
Dipak Kumar Sinha is formery Lecturer in Hetampur Krishna Chandra College, Hetampur, Birbhum, West Bengal, India. He completed his bachelor's and master's from the University of Calcutta with specialization in spectroscopy, respectively in 1967 and 1969.
