Dr. Li Zhou, MD, is Executive Vice President of Hubei Topgene Biotechnology Co., Ltd., General Manager of its Wuhan Branch, and Head of the Hubei Engineering Research Center for Preclinical Research and Safety Evaluation of Drugs. She focuses on toxicological research and non-clinical safety evaluation of drugs, having led or overseen more than 300 preclinical safety projects, with nearly 180 new drugs approved by the NMPA and over 20 evaluated drugs receiving clinical approval from the FDA and TGA. She has hosted or participated in 10 national or ministerial-level research projects and served as the deputy team leader, spearheading key specialized initiatives in nonclinical drug safety evaluation during China’s 12th and 13th Five-Year Plans. She currently directs multiple technical platforms in Wuhan related to maternal, child, and pharmaceutical safety evaluation. Dr. Zhou holds about 20 professional roles, including Chair of the 8th CST Reproductive & Developmental Toxicology Committee, Chair of the Laboratory Animals and Toxicology Committee of CALAS, Secretary-General of the 9th CST Reproductive & Developmental Toxicology Committee, and GLP expert recognized by NMPA and CNAS. She has edited seven monographs and participated in five others.
Dr. Zuyue Sun is Chief Scientist of the Shanghai Institute for Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Technologies, Research Fellow II, and doctoral supervisor at Fudan University. He formerly served as Research Director of the National Centre for the Toxicology of Fertility Regulating Drug (WHO Collaborating Centre) from 2006 to 2021. Recognized as a National Excellent Scientific and Technological Worker, he enjoys a State Council special allowance and was named a “Shanghai Leading Talent.” He has led national research projects under China's 12th and 13th Five-Year Plans and guided the Centre to earn the title “Drug Safety Evaluation Distinguished Platform.” He has served as Vice Chairman of CST, Chair of the 9th CST Reproductive & Developmental Toxicology Committee, and expert inspector for GLP and drug evaluation under NMPA. Dr. Sun has completed 271 projects, including 19 national or ministerial-level studies, received multiple prestigious scientific awards, and applied for 39 patents—27 of which were authorized. He has contributed to 13 monographs.
