A Handbook offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary exploration of Papua, Indonesia, cutting through its complex history, contemporary politics, security dynamics, and development challenges. Moving beyond fragmented narratives, the volume provides a holistic framework for understanding the evolving relationship between the Indonesian state and indigenous Papuan society. Each chapter delivers rigorous analysis and critical interventions grounded in extensive empirical research and deep engagement with existing scholarship. Essential reading for students and scholars across political science, international relations, development studies, and anthropology, this handbook is equally vital for practitioners working on conflict resolution, women’s empowerment, and grassroots community development in Papua.
