Chaotic Circuit Engineering

A Comprehensive Guide to Design Chaotic Circuits

Jizhao Liu | Xinguo Zhang | Li Xiong | Yide Ma

Science / System Theory

This book introduces, in a popular science format, the design principles and techniques of chaotic circuits. Combining the lifelong dedication to teaching, researching, and popularizing electronic circuitry, it represents the research essence of the third-generation scholars in chaotic circuits from Lanzhou University, China for over twenty years. This book serves as an excellent introductory book and a reference tool for researchers in chaotic circuitry. High school-level education, along with a basic understanding of calculus and circuitry, suffices for comprehending the book's content.

Jizhao Liu, born 1989 in Lanzhou, Gansu, China, received his B.S, M.S. and Ph.D. in Lanzhou University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Sun Yat-sen University. He is an associate professor with School of Information Science and Engineering, Lanzhou University, China. His research has been primarily in the area of chaos theory, chaotic circuit, and related engineering applications. His current research interests include the nonlinear characteristic in biological neural network, neural coding, brain-like and brain-inspired computing. He is currently Associate Editor of the IET Image Processing journal.

Xinguo Zhang born in 1946, pursued nuclear physics at Lanzhou University's Department of Modern Physics, earning his B.S. degree in 1965. He remained at Lanzhou University for over 36 years, joining in 1970 and retiring in 2006. Throughout his tenure, he held roles including director of the School of Information Science and Engineering's laboratory and director of the Basic Electronics Experiment Center. He authored 8 monographs and textbooks, showcasing his academic contributions. His research focused on nonlinear circuits and signal processing.

Li Xiong, born in 1985, Ph.D. in Engineering, Professor at Hexi University, Zhangye, China. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electronic Information Engineering from Northwest Normal University, a master's degree in Circuit and Systems from Northwest Normal University, and a doctoral degree in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering from Xi'an University of Technology. She mainly engages in research on memristors, chaos theory and applications, nonlinear dynamics and control, image encryption, and neurodynamics.

Yide Ma received the BS and MS degrees in radio technology from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Sichuan, China, in 1984 and 1988, respectively, and the PhD degree from the Department of Life Science, Lanzhou University, Gansu, China, in 2001. He is currently a professor with the School of Information Science and Engineering, Lanzhou University. His current research interests include artificial neural networks, digital image processing, pattern recognition, digital signal processing, and computer vision.
