The book deals with nutrient cycles in lakes and the problem of eutrophication, i.e. nutrient enrichment, through for example wastewaters or fertilizers. The models developed by the author are of great interest to experimental and theoretical ecologists; moreover, they are of practical use for water quality evaluation.
