The book will explain step-by-step how token economies complement diverse blockchain ecosystems to establish targeted incentive mechanisms for the stakeholders involved. For example, a specific blockchain ecosystem discussed in the book could be decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) and the related importance of token economics for the participating stakeholders. The table of contents for the book will be divided into clear sections that cover both technical aspects such as tokenomics, governance structures, and voting mechanisms; and practical insights from case studies from leading decentralized platforms involving Ethereum and DeFi protocols.

The plan is to write the book as a monograph that provides an actionable plan for building robust, secure, and efficient token economies. The book provides readers with a balanced approach, combining theoretical insights into Tokenomics and Token Economics with actionable frameworks for direct implementation in decentralized applications. At the same time, the book aims to address the key challenges inherent in decentralized governance, incentivizing stakeholders, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of blockchain dApps. Case studies in Chapter 7 are standalone, detailed analyses of blockchain ecosystems like Ethereum and Uniswap. Other chapters will include illustrative examples toclarify key concepts.

Alex Norta is currently a scientist entrepreneur focusing on his blockchain startup. He was an associate professor in the Department of Software Science of TalTech until March 1, 2022, and earlier a researcher at the Oulu University Secure Programming Group (OUSPG) after having been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, Finland. He received his MSc degree (2001) from Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria, and his PhD degree (2007) from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. Currently, Alex is also a scientist at Tallinn University working on an Estonian Web3 research project for the creative media domain. He is also a member of the Department of Informatics at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He is the founder and CEO of Norta DeSyCo OÜ in Estonia and Norta DeSyCo Limited in the United Arab Emirates.
