Green Cybersecurity

Securing Sustainable Digital Transformation

Qasem Abu Al-Haija | Yassine Maleh

Computers / Security / Network Security

This volume offers a comprehensive exploration of the intersection between cybersecurity and sustainability, addressing how digital systems can be secured while minimizing energy consumption and environmental impact. It brings together foundational cybersecurity concepts with energy-efficient IoT protection, AI-based anomaly detection, federated learning, digital twin security, cloud resilience and cyber threat intelligence, all organized around the green cybersecurity lifecycle.

Spanning fifteen chapters across five thematic areas, this book progresses from cybersecurity foundations for sustainable digital transformation through green security for smart cities.  It also includes AI and blockchain integration, lightweight IoMT authentication, secure smart contracts for green supply chains, energy-aware malware defense, deepfake detection for sustainable digital economies, privacy-preserving federated learning at the edge, digital twins for cyber-physical systems.  Resilient cloud incident response is covered as well as scalable cyber threat intelligence, and human-centric security awareness, closing with an explainable transformer-based face forensics case study and a forward-looking chapter on strategic directions for secure and resilient digital ecosystems.

This book is an indispensable resource for cybersecurity researchers, IoT architects and sustainability-focused engineers. Policymakers working at the intersection of digital transformation and environmental strategy, and graduate students seeking to understand how the next generation of security systems must protect both digital assets and the planet's resources will also find this book a valuable recourse.
