This book explores how perceived discrimination and acculturation affect social capital and psychological capital of Middle Eastern immigrant entrepreneurs in Australia and how these forms of capital, in turn, influence their firm performance. The book also reveals that perceive discrimination decreases immigrant entrepreneurs’ social engagement beyond their immigrant communities, weakening their available social support and perceived social capital. The authors highlight the importance of social capital and psychological capital in influencing firm performance among immigrant entrepreneurs. The authors also highlight the need for policies that strengthen social support, reduced discrimination (despite legal protections), and assist immigrant entrepreneurs build and leverage psychological capital, fostering greater business success.
