This cohesive volume examines the different theoretical foundations that inform the field of cultural psychology from a behavioral perspective. In two sections it focuses on conceptual work that defines the field and explores directions for future development. Broadly considering theoretical foundations, the book provides a sound foundation for understanding the strengths of behavior analysis and its applicability to social issues. In addition to clearly conceptualizing how various theories overlap and can be integrated, it also focuses on specific topics such as sexual orientation and gender identity, disability, racism, and aging. Linda J. Hayes is a Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of Nevada, Reno. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba and her graduate degrees from Western Michigan University. Linda founded the Behavior Analysis Program at UNR, as well as its satellite programs elsewhere in the world. She is a fellow of the Association for Behavior Analysis International and has served two terms as its president.

Mitch Fryling, Ph.D. (he/him/his) is Associate Dean and Professor at California State University, Los Angeles. Mitch received his Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, Reno, and his M.A. and B.S. from Western Michigan University. Mitch recently co-authored a text on interbehaviorism, has co-edited texts on language and cognition and behavior science in organizations, and was the editor of The Psychological Record from 2018 to 2024.
