Organizational Commitment and Management Innovation

Theory, Research, and Practice in the Context of Work and Organizations

Ana Paula Moreno Pinho | Adauto de Vasconcelos Montenegro

Business & Economics / Management

This book explores organizational commitment and management innovation, integrating theory, research, and practice to deepen understanding of these two key areas in work and organizational studies. It examines these themes across both public and private sectors and within varied work settings, including remote work and self-employment.

The first section focuses on organizational commitment, addressing its theoretical foundations, methodological approaches, empirical findings, and managerial implications. Topics include its development in Brazil, measurement scales, commitment profiles, and its links to job satisfaction and turnover intentions. It also considers how commitment manifests in remote work environments and among self-employed individuals.

The second section turns to management innovation, covering core concepts, empirical research, management control systems, innovation adoption, managerial skills, and the role of organizational culture in fostering innovation.

The book concludes by analyzing the connection between management innovation and organizational commitment and proposing directions for future research. It will serve as a valuable resource for researchers interested in work and organizational dynamics.
