Digital Logic Principles

A Comprehensive Tutorial and Self-Study Lessons

Mehdi Rahmani-Andebili

Technology & Engineering / Electronics / Circuits / General

This textbook is designed for students studying digital logic and serves as a comprehensive tutorial guide that covers all essential lessons for the digital logic principles course. It addresses both theoretical concepts and practical technical aspects in a clear and engaging manner. The material includes detailed, step-by-step solutions to examples, utilizing various methods and approaches. Partially solved exercises help students through the problem-solving process by providing hints about the required formulas, while exercises with final answers encourage independent practice. Problems that do not include solutions or answers will help instructors create tests and quizzes while also motivating students. This book can be used effectively for self-study by students and as a reference by instructors. Topics covered include numbering systems, Boolean algebra, Venn diagrams, logic variables, functions, gates, circuits, and the analysis and synthesis processes of logic circuits. Additionally, the textbook discusses the optimal implementation of logic functions using Karnaugh maps, as well as arithmetic circuits, combinational circuit building blocks, and sequential circuits, including latches, flip-flops, registers, and counters.

Digital Logic Principles: A Comprehensive Tutorial and Lessons aims to enhance students' problem-solving skills and foster a solid understanding of the subject. It will also serve as a valuable resource for practicing engineers and technicians in the electronics industry, as well as for electronics hobbyists and beginners seeking a practical self-study guide.
