Orlando, the book begins with a chapter on esophageal anatomy and physiology, and takes the reader through an exploration of gastroesophageal reflux disease, pH-monitoring, and finally, surgery of the esophagus.  Also illustrated and expounded upon are topics including acute esophagitis, endoscopic ultrasonography, esophageal motor disorders, and additional material pertaining to esophageal diseases.  As Orlando explains, the contributing authors dedicated much time, energy, and expertise in order to bring the book to fruition.
