Aerogel technologies from sol-gel synthesis through industrial-scale deployment
Translating aerogel research from laboratory synthesis to viable industrial processes requires integrated knowledge of chemistry, characterization, and scale-up engineering. Aerogel Science and Engineering: From Lab Synthesis to Industrial Application addresses this need by covering sol-gel chemistry, drying methods, structural characterization, functionalization, and simulation alongside global case studies illustrating commercial viability and sustainable manufacturing pathways for diverse aerogel compositions.
The book details aerogel applications across environmental remediation, energy storage, biomedical engineering, and sensor technologies. Each topic is supported by schematic illustrations, expert commentary, and design problems reinforcing practical understanding. Dedicated sections address regulatory and standardization challenges specific to biomedical and environmental aerogel deployment, providing targeted guidance for teams navigating compliance requirements during commercialization of aerogel-based products.
