Contemporary Case Studies in Addictions Counseling

Jennifer N. Baggerly

Psychology / Psychopathology / Addiction

Accreditation standards such as Council of Accreditation of Counseling Related Educational Programs (CACREP) require mental health graduate programs to teach assessment and treatment of addictions. In addition, numerous universities have Addiction Counseling programs at the graduate level and Substance Abuse Treatment programs at the undergraduate level. However, there are very few books providing contemporary mental health case studies for addictions treatment.

Both mental health professionals in training and current mental health professionals will welcome this versatile book that provides both succinct discussion of specific addictions and evidence-based treatment approaches as well as in-depth biopsychosocial and step-by-step treatment guidance through contemporary case studies of diverse adolescents and adults. Professors will also appreciate the discussion questions, glossary of terms, practical worksheets, transcript analysis, sample case note, and treatment summaries.

She also provides counseling to children, adolescents, and adults at Kaleidoscope Behavioral Health. She has authored over 60 publications. Dr. Baggerly has taught and provided counseling for over 30 years.
