Technology & Engineering / Electronics / General

This book introduces planning method of power control configuration and structuring method of signal process link for grid-connected power conversion. These methods can be used for readers in research and engineering fields of renewable energy system. In this way, readers wishing to learn these control methods can gain insight on how to design and practice each control method easily.

Readership: Graduate students and academics majored in power electronics, and engineers engaged in developing grid-connected inverters for renewable energy system; senior undergraduate students majored in electrical engineering and automation engineering.

Huafeng (Henry) Xiao received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), Nanjing, China, in 2004, 2007, and 2010, respectively. From 2015 to 2017, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Laboratory of Electric Drives and Application Research (LEDER), Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada, and at Electric Energy Systems Laboratory (EESL), McGill University, Montreal, Canada, respectively. He is currently a Professor at School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, China. He has authored over 100 journal and conference papers, and 3 books as well, and held over 50 China Patents and 2 US patents. His main research interests include Topology, control, and protection techniques of renewable energy generation systems, Multi-terminal MMC-HVDC, High power density inverter design.

Dr. Xiao has received Gold Medal from 47th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, 3 China Patent Excellence Awards, and First Prize of China Electric Power Technology Progress Award. He served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, and IET Power Electronics. He is also a IEEE Senior member and IEC member, and co-edited and published IEC TS 63217 and IEC TS 62910, currently, he is editing PV safety standard in terms of collected leakage current (IEC TS 63617).
