This book presents selected papers from the 7th Asia Conference on Material and Manufacturing Technology (ACMMT 2025), held from November 4–7, in Pattaya, Thailand. This book reports on advances in material-enabled manufacturing technologies and intelligent production systems, with a special emphasis on their intersections with mining, metallurgy, and materials engineering. It covers a diverse array of topics, including the extraction and processing of materials for advanced manufacturing, the use of novel alloys and composites in intelligent production equipment, and the application of digital technologies in optimizing mining-related manufacturing processes. Further topics include the development of sustainable manufacturing practices within the context of mining-based materials and the integration of artificial intelligence in metallurgical production systems. This book offers a timely reference for both academics and professionals in the broad field of mining, metallurgy, and materials engineering. It equips readers with the latest knowledge and research findings, enabling academics to further their research and professionals to innovate in industrial processes, thereby driving the continuous development of these industries in the era of advanced manufacturing and intelligent production.
Yong Suk Yang is a professor emeritus in the Nano Energy Engineering Department, former dean of the College of NanoScience and NanoTechnology, and former director of the Research Center of Dielectric and Advanced Materials at Pusan National University. He received Ph.D. in solid-state physics in 1990 from McGill University, Montreal. He has been a faculty member since 1993. He has been working at neutron- and synchrotron radiation-related international facilities, NSLS, APS, SSRL, Oak Ridge (USA), AECL (Canada), SPring8 (Japan), Riso (Denmark), KAERI (Korea). He has published various articles on the phase transitions of structural order-disorder, low dimensional antiferromagnet, glass crystallization, dielectric relaxation, and negative thermal expansion. Multiferroics, solid oxide fuel cells, and lithium-ion batteries are also his recent interests. He has taught under and graduate students over 30 subjects, including quantum mechanics, statistics, solid-state physics, thin films, semiconductors, thermal physics, ceramics, dielectrics, and modern physics.
