This book presents a concise yet comprehensive overview of phytoecdysteroids—plant-derived steroidal compounds with remarkable biological and therapeutic potential. A previously published volume, Phytoecdysteroids: Properties, Biological Activity and Applications, was primarily devoted to the chemistry and technology of phytoecdysteroids derived from Ajuga, Silene, and Rhaponticum species. In contrast to coverage of their natural occurrence, biosynthesis, structural diversity, and spectroscopic characterization, this volume highlights pharmacological properties, including metabolic, stress-protective, cardioprotective, hepatoprotective, and regenerative effects in mammalian systems. Expanding beyond traditional research, the volume introduces cutting-edge approaches, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and drug repurposing, providing readers with a forward-looking perspective on drug discovery and translational opportunities. With updated insights into safety profiling and modern analytical methods, this book serves as an essential reference for natural product chemists, pharmacologists, and interdisciplinary scientists seeking to connect chemistry, biology, and medicine in the development of novel phytoecdysteroid-based applications.

Vladimir Syrov started in 1972 under the guidance of Doctor of Medical Sciences A.G. Kurmukov. In 1979 Syrov successfully defended his PhD. In 1997 his doctoral dissertation in the field of ecdysteroids and their pharmacological activity. Since 2005 professor in the specialty "pharmacology". He studies their influence on the course of basic metabolic reactions of the body, molecular mechanisms and the relationship between structure and biological activity. Biologically active additives developed by Syrov based on phytoecdysteroids - ecdysten plus, eksumid, jistenin. He is an expert of the Pharmacological Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Ugiloy Yusupova is a researcher at the Laboratory of the Chemistry of Glycosides, Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. She earned her PhD in Chemistry (Biochemistry) in 2023. Her work centers on isolation, structural elucidation, and biological evaluation of natural products, particularly phytoecdysteroids and iridoids, along with computational and AI/ML-based modeling. Dr. Yusupova has published over 18 peer-reviewed papers (h-index 7), co-invented two patents on hypoglycemic and anti-inflammatory agents, and presented at international conferences with multiple young scientist awards. She also reviews for journals including Natural Product Research and Natural Product Communications.

Durbek A. Usmanov is a PhD student in the Materials and Nanotechnology program at North Dakota State University, USA. He previously earned a PhD in Chemistry (Biochemistry) from the Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. His research focuses on natural products, especially ecdysteroids, predictive SAR, cheminformatics, and AI/ML modeling of natural compounds and nanomaterials. He has been closely working with Prof. Bakhtiyor Rasulev for the last seven years with a focus on applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve fundamental problems in Chemistry of Natural Compounds, Biological Activity, Toxicity, and Materials Science. Dr. Usmanov has published over 22 peer-reviewed articles, holds two patents on bioactive compounds, and reviews for journals such as Plos One, and Natural Product Research. He received international research fellowships from Uzbekistan’s Ministry and Agency of Innovative Development in 2019 and 2024.
