This book presents peer-reviewed articles from the 9th International Conference on Space Science and Communication (IconSpace 2025) held at Melaka in Malaysia from the 23–25 Sept. It addresses the cutting-edge initiatives and solutions in space science, atmospheric sciences, remote sensing and space, satellite and communication technologies, bringing together researchers, engineers, meteorologists, geospatialists, and space practitioners. It serves as a platform for showcasing the latest advancements and applications in these fields.

The contributions to this book cover a broad spectrum of topics, categorized into four major tracks:

Track 1: Space Sciences—Exploring the fundamental science behind space research and its applications, from astrophysics to space exploration.

Track 2: Atmospheric and Magnetospheric Sciences—Discussing the dynamics of Earth’s atmosphere, magnetosphere, and their interactions with space weather, with an emphasis on climate monitoring and space weather forecasting.

Track 3: Remote Sensing & Applications—Focusing on satellite-based technologies and their applications in Earth observation, environmental monitoring, and disaster management.

Track 4: Satellite and Communication Technology—Highlighting advancements in satellite communication systems, innovations in space-based networks, and their role in global connectivity.

This book provides critical insights for developing policies, evaluating global needs, and advancing space-related technologies in ways that benefit society. The research presented within reflects the trends, challenges, and emerging solutions shaping the future of space science and its applications.

Dr. Mohd Fais Bin Mansor is an associate professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), focusing on antenna technology, RF circuits, metamaterials, and radio wave propagation. With a Ph.D. in Antennas and Propagation from the University of Surrey, UK, his work has advanced MIMO systems, particularly in the field of wireless and satellite communications.

Dr. Mohd Hafiz Baharuddin obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with the University of Nottingham, UK.  He is currently working as a senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Systems Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. His research interests include modeling and experimental methods in electromagnetic compatibility focusing on the characterization of the stochastic electromagnetic fields in the near field, metamaterials and microwave imaging.

Prof. Mohammad Tariqul Islam is currently a professor with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Systems Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and a visiting professor with the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. His research interests include communication antenna design, metamaterial, satellite antennas, and microwave imaging.

Dr. Siti Aminah Bahari is a researcher officer at the Space Science Centre (ANGKASA), Institute of Climate Change, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Her research focuses on the impacts of space weather on Global Positioning System (GPS) and ionospheric disturbances, with particular emphasis on Total Electron Content (TEC) studies. She holds a Ph.D. and master’s in Electrical, Electronic, and System Engineering, as well as a bachelor’s in physics.
