It explores the intricacies of lignin's chemistry, providing light on planets most prevalent naturally occurring polymers, while emphasizing the use of lignin in production of biopolymers, biofuels, and novel materials, and includes several methods for its extraction, characterization, and valuation. The book highlights how important it is to increase sustainability across range of businesses as it investigates potential use of lignin, a biopolymer that is naturally plentiful and renewable, to address environmental issues on worldwide scale. It looks into the advantages of using lignin as sustainable substitute for synthetic materials and goods derived from petrochemicals. Overall, this book emphasizes relationship between sustainability and lignin science, and it bridges the gap between lignin science and useful applications in sustainability through its multidisciplinary approach. Moreover, it highlights lignin as a driving force behind creation of environmental friendly goods and technology that supports more sustainable future. Its content caters to academics, students, researchers, and policymakers working in the area of global sustainability through a circular economy.

Dr. Aatikah Meraj is currently working as Postdoctoral Fellow at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Advanced Materials, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
