This book aims to share cutting-edge research in civil engineering with the global academic community, promote research initiatives in institutions and industries, encourage collaboration among international researchers, and raise awareness about sustainable development. With the rapid development of the global economy, the gradual improvement in living standards, and the rising expectations for quality of life, the construction industry and researchers must prioritize advancements in areas such as construction management, structural design, health monitoring, water resources management, environmental sustainability, tunnels, bridges, highways, smart transportation, offshore construction, municipal waste management, geotechnical and surveying activities, earthquake and disaster management, as well as smart infrastructure and city development.
Innovative developments in civil engineering are crucial to meeting future demands. Addressing industrial challenges like reducing material waste, reusing and recycling materials, delivering cost-effective and timely projects, and providing solutions to current civil engineering problems will benefit society and enhance indoor living environments. The aim is to create a well-connected network of professionals who can foster innovation and bridge the gap between research and practice. The latest findings and solutions—whether economic, environmental, or social—will be shared to address global sustainability issues and drive innovative development within the civil engineering sector.
ICC IDEA-2023 specifically focuses on exploring new construction materials, innovative construction techniques, and rehabilitation processes while disseminating the latest technologies in the field of civil engineering. The book also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, challenges, and solutions in the industry.
