Wynn has been researching the design and development process since 2002. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford and PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, he worked as a researcher at Cambridge Engineering Design Centre and was elected a Fellow of Homerton College. David then joined Bombardier Aerospace in Montreal, Canada where he worked in the Product Development Engineering group, also holding adjunct appointments at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University and the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering at the University of Prince Edward Island. After some time in industry, he returned to full-time academia at the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
