This book presents the papers from the 10th International Conference on Innovation in Artificial Intelligence (ICIAI 2026), held during 11–14 April 2026 at Waseda University, Japan.

The topics covered include fields of Core AI & Technology, Machine Learning & Data Science, Intelligent Systems & Optimization, Computational Intelligence & Fuzzy Systems and Applied AI Domains. Specifically, this book covers studies in data modeling and prediction system analysis; target detection and machine vision; intelligent image analysis and processing methods; theory, technology and applications of next generation artificial intelligence; intelligent autonomous systems and signal processing; machine learning and intelligent technology in modern information systems; large language models; continual learning and artificial general intelligence (AGI).

This caters to academics, researchers and engineers from various industries who work in artificial intelligence systems while utilizing latest technology advances in AI, machine learning, deep learning, etc.

Steven Guan (Sheng-Uei Guan) received his B.Sc. from Tsinghua University and M.Sc., Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a professor at Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). He served the founding head of department position at XJTLU since 2008 until 2012, creating the department from scratch and now in shape. Before joining XJTLU, he was a tenured professor and chair in intelligent systems at Brunel University, UK. Prof. Guan has worked in a prestigious organization for several years, serving as a design engineer, project leader, and department manager. After leaving the industry, he joined the academia for three and half years. He served as the deputy director for the Computing Center and the chairman for the Department of Information Communication Technology. Later he joined the Electrical Computer Engineering Department at National University of Singapore as an associate professor for 8 years.

Hayato Yamana received a Dr. Eng. degree at Waseda University in 1993. He began his career at the Electrotechnical Laboratory of the former Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), and was seconded to MITI’s Machinery and Information Industries Bureau for a year in 1996. He was subsequently appointed associate professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Waseda University in 2000, and has been a professor since 2005. Since 2010, he has been director of DBSJ (Database Society of Japan). He was director of Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) and vice chair of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE)’s Information and Communication Society. At Waseda University, he was Deputy Chief Information Officer from 2015 to 2020. Since October 2020, he has been a vice president for IT Promotion and Chief Information Officer. His research interests include fully homomorphic encryption, big data analysis and computer architecture.
