Taking the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return as a key moment, the book focuses on the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, aiming to promote regional integration and establish an international cultural tourism landmark through the synergy of art and tourism. From an interdisciplinary perspective, it constructs a theoretical and practical framework for the integration of urban public art and cultural tourism, highlights the central role of Chinese cultural heritage in urban development, and analyzes the history, cultural characteristics, and integration strategies of Hengqin-Macao cooperation. At the theoretical level, the book examines the relationship between urban space and environmental aesthetics, proposing new design concepts for urban renewal. Using Hengqin-Macao as a case study, it elaborates on the artistic expression of urban space and its role in brand building. At the practical level, it reviews how public art shapes urban spirit, demonstrates its value in cultural expression and tourism experience through diverse art forms, and synthesizes innovative methods of public art design by drawing on both domestic and international cases. The book further investigates the development trends of immersive cultural tourism, analyzing the features of different immersive experiences. Combining policy and practice in Hengqin-Macao, it proposes design and innovation methods for cultural tourism projects. The research employs fieldwork, case studies, and project practice to ensure both scientific rigor and practical applicability. With a clear structure-covering the introduction, urban culture and tourism development, urban space and environmental aesthetics, public art and cultural expression, integration of urban culture and tourism, the Hengqin-Macao Forum with empirical studies, and design outcomes—the book offers a comprehensive exploration of art-tourism integration. By establishing a systematic theoretical framework, advancing innovative perspectives, and producing demonstrative projects, the book provides strong support for Hengqin-Macao integration. It makes a significant contribution to enhancing urban cultural soft power, upgrading the tourism industry, and advancing cultural inheritance and innovation.

Jing LIU is an Assistant Professor in Design and the Program Coordinator of the Master's Program in Design at the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau.
