He is currently a professor with the College of Information Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan. He was a visiting professor with Oxford University, Oxford, United Kingdom, in 2003 and with Pennsylvania State University, Pennsylvania, in 2010. He is also a visiting professor with the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, and the Zhejing Lab, Hangzhou, China. He is an associate editor for the International Journal of Image and Graphics (IJIG), and the International Journal of Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Engineering Systems. His research focuses on computer vision, medical image analysis, and machine learning. He has published more than 300 research papers in these fields. Prof Kwok received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Hong Kong and his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He then joined the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University as an Assistant Professor. He returned to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is now a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He is serving\/served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Neural Networks, Neurocomputing, Artificial Intelligence Journal, International Journal of Data Science and Analytics, and an Action Editor of Machine Learning. He is also serving as Senior Area Chairs of major machine learning\/AI conferences including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, IJCAI, and as Area Chairs of conferences including AAAI and ECML. He is on the IJCAI Board of Trustees. He is recognized as the Most Influential Scholar Award Honorable Mention for \"outstanding and vibrant contributions to the field of AAAI\/IJCAI between 2009 and 2019\", an inaugural Highly Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS, and among the Top 2% scientists (by Stanford University) since it was established in 2021.
