He is Formerly Deputy General Manager (Quality Assurance and Technology Development) at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam, Sri Arghya Majumder, and did his graduation in Metallurgical Engineering and Master degree in Industrial Metallurgy from Jadavpur University. He is Ph.D. Holder from Jadavpur University. He had been instrumental in ensuring the quality of steel through stringent process control over raw material handling plant, sinter plant as well as blast furnace for more than two decades. He also has a post-graduate diploma in computer application (PGDCA) from Pondicherry University. He was part of the team in commissioning and stabilization of Cold Rolling Mill of M\/s Walzen Strips Pvt. Ltd., Biradingi, Howrah.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eProfessor Ray is currently “Prof. S. S. Pani Chair Professor” at the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, India. He has been working at NIT Rourkela since 1989. Prof. Ray’s research centers on the impact of extreme environmental conditions on fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. Dr. Ray has been selected by UNESCO and the Australian Expert Committee for Industries in the Asia-Pacific region based on SCI. He has been serving as Technical Advisor to TATA Steel Limited (New Materials Business). He has been serving as Editor of a SCI Journal-Transactions of the Indian Institute of Metals (TIIM) Journal. Prof. Ray holds many distinguished chairs in reputed institutions and committees across the country. He has also supervised 20 Ph.D. scholars.
