Dr. Hara Prasad Pati completed his MD in pathology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and was a former professor of hematology, Department of Haematology, at AIIMS, New Delhi, India. With 33 years of experience in the field, his areas of research interest include acute leukemia, chronic leukemia (CML), MDS, drug trials (deferiprone), hemostasis, functional platelet disorders, venous thrombosis, particularly splanchnic venous thrombosis, red cell enzymology, hematopoietic cell colony culture, electron microscopy, angiogenesis, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. He has been honored with several orations, fellowships, vising professorship and life time achievements Dr. Pati has published over 220 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals and co-edited 9 hematology books.
Dr. Renu Saxena is Senior Director Path and Lab medicine and Head of Hematopathology at Medanta, The Medicity, Gurgaon, India. She is a former Professor and Head of the department of hematology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. Her areas of research interest include diagnosis and molecular genetics of hemostasis, thrombosis, thalassemia, hemoglobinopathies, hemolytic disorders, and acute and chronic leukemias, DNA analysis for hemophilia A linkage studies, intron 22 and 1 inversion, von Willebrand disease characterization, F V Leiden, prothrombin 20210, and MTHFR gene mutations. Dr. Saxena is recipient of several national and International awards including the prestigious B C Roy Award .She has published over 600 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals, edited 9 books, and is a fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FNAMS) and the International Medical Sciences Academy.
Dr. Maitreyee Bhattacharyya completed her DM in clinical hematology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Currently, she is the director at the Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine, Medical College, Kolkata, India. Dr. Bhattacharyya's areas of interest include hematological malignancies and bone marrow transplants. She is the nodal officer for the West Bengal state thalassemia control program and the state technical expert for comprehensive hemophilia care. She is also an advisory board member of the Bengal Medical Genomic Center. Dr. Bhattacharyya has published over 112 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
Dr. Tuphan Kanti Dolai (DM, MD, DNB, MBBS, FICP, FICH) completed his DM in clinical hematology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. Currently, he is working as a professor and head of the hematology department at NRS Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Dr. Dolai has published over 135 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He is also the honorary secretary of the Indian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
