Prof. Yuan is also a guest professor at China University of Petroleum(CUP) and Southwest Petroleum University(SPU), China. He obtained his PhD degree in petroleum geology at Southwest Petroleum University, China. He has published more than 100 papers in many peer-reviewed journals as the main author or co-author, covering sedimentology and petroleum geology field. He has also authored a number of books and book chapters.
