Theory and Technique for Low Earth Orbit Satellite Internet of Things

Xiaoming Chen | Ming Ying

Computers / Networking / General

This book focuses on the theories and techniques for LEO Satellite Internet of Things, which provides a systematic and in-depth exploration of the architecture, key technologies, and integrated applications of Low Earth Orbit satellite-based IoT networks. It covers crucial topics such as constellation design, channel acquisition, multiple access, robust transmission, and inter-satellite cooperation, with a strong emphasis on modeling, optimization, and deep learning-assisted methods. It features extensive simulation results, illustrative figures, and clear structural presentations, offering readers both theoretical foundations and practical insights. It will benefit researchers, engineers, and students by providing comprehensive knowledge and design methodologies for next-generation space-air-ground-sea integrated communication systems.

Xiaoming Chen is a professor with the College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering, Zhejiang University, China. His research interests are in the areas of wireless communication and signal processing, mainly including fifth-generation (5G) key techniques, IoT theory and technique, and machine learning in communications. Prof. Chen has published more than 100 referred papers in IEEE Journals and conferences. He served as an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Communications and IEEE Communications Letters.

Ming Ying received the B.S. degree in information engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2022, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the college of Information Science and Electronic Engineering. His research interests include LEO satellite communications, Internet of Things, and massive access.
