Moreover, several perioperative  aspects of surgical procedures have been considered as possible causes  of cerebral dysfunction, for example: microbubbles, toxic by-products,  non-pulsatile blood flow. \u003cbr\u003e  The second section describes how \u003cem\u003eimaging techniques\u003c\/em\u003e (CT scan,  MRI, regional cerebral blood flow imaging), and \u003cem\u003efunctional  assessment\u003c\/em\u003e techniques.
