It is    assumed, as a prerequisites, that\nthe reader is familiar with the basic     linear system and au-\ntomatic control concepts. In part I interpolation     theory is\nused to solve various single-input-single-output (SISO)           ro-\nbust control problems. While the interpolation approach is\nawkward  for multivariable systems, it provides a very natu-\nral and simple approach for SISO systems. In particular the\ninterpolation approach requires only    elementary knowledge\nof complex variables, and provides a great deal of     physical\ninsight into various robust control problems. The                  required\ninterpolation theory is developed in some detail. Part II\nis   devoted to multivariable systems. Two approaches are out-\nlined: the        Hankle-norm approach and the two-Riccati-equa-\ntion approach. In this part  only a limited number of results\nare proven. However MATLAB software is     presented for nu-\nmerical solution. The book is addressed to                researchers,\npracticing engineers, and students who wish to get an          intro-\nduction to robust control theory for unstructured                    plant\nperturbations.
