He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the National Aviation University (Kyiv, Ukraine) in engineering of maintenance and service of airspace systems. He later obtained both his Ph.D. and Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degrees in engineering, specializing in navigation and air traffic control systems.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHis research focuses on navigation and avionics systems, alternative positioning, navigation and timing, surveillance data processing, air transport safety, and efficient flight planning. Dr. Ostroumov was a Fulbright Program Scholar (2017–2018) at the Purdue University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics (IN, USA). He has served as Principal Investigator of the research project “Research and Development of a Ukrainian Ground Network of Navigational Aids for Increasing the Safety of Civil Aviation” (2024–2025), funded by the European Union.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDr. Maksym Zaliskyi \u003c\/strong\u003eis a full professor of the Department of Telecommunication and Radioelectronic Systems at theState University “Kyiv Aviation Institute” (former National Aviation University). He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in radio engineering from the National Aviation University, Ukraine, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He obtained a PhD and D.Sc. degrees in aircraft equipment operation from the National Aviation University, in 2012 and 2021, respectively. His areas of interest include data processing, equipment operation, and reliability analysis. He participated in several research and development projects under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c\/strong\u003eMaksym is head of PhD educational and scientific program “Telecommunications and Radio Engineering”. A total number of research publications is 330.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDr. Karen Marais' \u003c\/strong\u003eresearch focuses on developing ways to deliver value through reliability, safety, and sustainability. She is the author or co-author of several technical publications, including 24 journal papers, two reports for the National Academies, and two book chapters. She received an NSF CAREER award in 2014. Dr. Karen Marais has worked in engineering for two decades. Dr. Marais holds a B. Eng. in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and a B.Sc.in mathematics from the University of South Africa. She also holds a master's degree in space-based radar from MIT. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT in 2005.
