Private Universities in Africa

Toyin Falola

History / Africa / General

Focusing on the rapid growth of private universities since the late twentieth century, this book examines their role in meeting Africa's growing educational demands. While private universities provide important alternatives to public systems, they face significant challenges, including high tuition fees and concerns over quality. This book offers valuable insights into the evolving landscape of African higher education, exploring the successes, limitations, and prospects of private institutions in contributing to the continent’s socio-economic development.
