This book presents selected contributions from the 5th Florence Heri-Tech International Conference (Florence, Italy, 2026), showcasing current advances in Heritage Science and Technology. Rocco Furferi is Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of Florence (DIEF), University of Florence (Italy) where he teaches the courses Mechanical Drafting and Reverse Engineering for optimization. He is responsible for numerous national and international projects, including the PNRR CHANGES (Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Next-Gen Sustainable Society) and TUSCANY HEALTH ECOSYSTEM - SPOKE 3 Advanced technologies, methods and materials for human health and well-being. He is the author of more than 200 papers in the fields of Reverse Engineering, Computational Geometry, CAD and Textile and Mechanical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.

Kate Seymour is a paintings conservator dedicated to safeguarding cultural heritage by bringing together art and science. With more than 25 years of experience as both a conservator and educator, Kate has worked internationally, sharing her expertise through workshops in Russia, India, Mexico, and beyond. In 2024, she founded Art Conservation Education, an organization that offers specialized workshops to support both emerging and experienced conservators. She currently serves as President of the ICOM-CC Directory Board, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field of conservation and fostering international collaboration.

Anna Pelagotti holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and is a Senior Research Scientist at the Italian National Institute of Optics (CNR-INO). Since 2020, she has served as a Policy Officer at the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA), where she works on Open Science policies, including Open Access to publications and research data. Previously, she held several roles at the European Commission (DG CONNECT), contributing to photonics strategy, project management, and science policy. Her research spans biophotonics, imaging, infrared holography, and cultural heritage. She is the founder of Art-Test, a company specializing in photonics for art diagnostics, and is the author of over 80 scientific publications and 11 international patents.

Maria Perla Colombini is former Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Pisa and a leading expert in the chemistry of cultural heritage. Her research focuses on the development of innovative analytical methods and sustainable conservation strategies for artworks and archaeological materials, with particular expertise in organic materials, paintings, and archaeological wood. From 2013 to 2017, she served as Director of the CNR Institute for the Conservation and Valorisation of Cultural Heritage. She has authored more than 350 scientific publications and three books and has coordinated numerous national and international research projects.
