He has worked at the SSC Laboratory, the Centre D’Etudes Nucleaires Grenoble, the Deutsches Elecktronen-Synchrotron Laboratory (DESY), the Stanford Linear Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC), the National Science Foundation and Michigan State University.\u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003e \u003c\/div\u003e\r\n\u003cdiv\u003eDr. Weisend’s research interests include He II, cryogenic safety, large scale accelerator cryogenics and international scientific collaborations. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cryogenic Society of America (CSA) He has led the CSA Short Course Program since 2001.  He is the Chair of the International Cryogenic Engineering Conference Committee and a Fellow of the Cryogenic Society of America. In addition to co-authoring more than 80 technical papers, Dr. Weisend is the author of He is for Helium, the co-author (with N. Filina) of Cryogenic Two-Phase Flow, the co-author (with T. Peterson) of Cryogenic Safety, coauthor (with G.T. Meaden) of Going for Cold: A Biography of a Great Physicist, K. Mendelssohn and the editor of the Handbook of Cryogenic Engineering and of Cryostat Design.
