Introduction to Quantum Computing and Sensing for Electrical Engineers

A Hands-On Guide

Aleksandr Krasnok

Computers / Quantum Computing

Quantum computing and quantum sensing are changing how engineers think about information, measurement, communication, and security. Quantum computing uses the rules of quantum physics to process information in new ways. Quantum sensing uses those same rules to measure small changes in fields, forces, materials, and other physical systems.

Introduction to Quantum Computing and Sensing for Electrical Engineers is a practical guide for students and readers who want to understand how these ideas work in real systems. The book explains the main concepts step by step and uses Python examples to connect theory with practice. It covers quantum states, measurements, circuits, noise, sensing, quantum algorithms, quantum networks, and quantum security. The focus is on helping readers see how quantum models, computer simulations, and physical devices fit together.

Dr. Alex Krasnok is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University. His research focuses on quantum photonics, nanophotonics, metasurfaces, quantum sensing, and electromagnetic systems. He has written more than 200 scientific publications, including work published in Science, Nature, Physical Review Letters, and other leading journals. His honors include the FIU Presidential Excellence Award, the FIU Top Scholar Award, and the Leopold B. Felsen Award for Excellence in Electrodynamics.
