In addition to focusing on microbiological dangers including Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter, and Escherichia coli, the material covers a wide variety of important pollutants including lead, fluoride, selenium, mercury, pesticides, and disinfection byproducts.

Dr. Amit Gupta is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at University of Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India. His research primarily focuses on microbiological and immunological studies related to human health, and he has published several research papers in reputed journals. Over the past several years, his work has emphasized water-based studies, particularly the analysis of various microbiological parameters and their impact on human health. His research also investigates the presence and effects of contaminants in water systems. He is actively involved in guiding Ph.D. students and continues to explore diverse biological aspects with a focus on human health and environmental interactions.

Dr. Gupta pursued his Doctorate in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He subsequently completed his postdoctoral research at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and the National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei. He has also served as a Senior Research Associate under the Scientist Pool Scheme at CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad. Further, he has worked as a Senior Scientist at Vidya Pratishthan School of Biotechnology, Baramati; PP Savani University, Surat, Gujarat, India and as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun.

Dr. Rakesh Pant is currently working as an Executive Microbiologist, Department of Water Technology Lab, Eureka Forbes Ltd., Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He is an accomplished environmental microbiologist with over a decade of multidisciplinary experience in water purification technologies and quality management systems. He holds a deep expertise across key domains including New Product Development (NPD), Total Quality Management, water technology validation and development, research, and innovation. Currently serving as Executive Microbiologist, he has played a pivotal role in advancing water purification systems through rigorous testing (Chemical and Microbiological), validation, and quality assurance practices. Dr. Pant has authored multiple peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters focusing on water quality, microbial contamination, and bioremediation. He brings strong on-ground insights into Pan-India water conditions and user practices. Dr. Pant pursued his Doctorate in Microbiology from Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. A dedicated research professional with advanced expertise in water quality assessment and environmental safety analysis. Conducted comprehensive field sampling from multiple river sites, followed by detailed physicochemical, heavy metal, and microbiological analysis of water samples. Experienced in evaluating bacterial contamination through antibiotic susceptibility assays and performing molecular characterization using bacterial gene sequencing techniques. His work emphasized on the ability to assess the impact of water quality on human health and ecological systems, providing scientifically validated insights for environmental monitoring, strong laboratory skills with field experience to ensure accurate, reliable, and impactful research outcomes. He worked with Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India in BARC funded project as a junior research fellow.
