The books cater to professionals and students in mechanical, civil, aerospace, naval, and shipbuilding engineering. These sections are essential because failing to account for the loss of stability in deformed structural elements or neglecting dynamic effects during the design process can lead to severe engineering challenges, including catastrophic failures of buildings and infrastructure. This volume on Dynamics is primarily designed for professionals and specialists in structural dynamics and related fields. The author has made the material accessible not only to scientists, researchers, and graduate/postgraduate students in structural mechanics and dynamics but also to engineers working in design centers and organizations. The book also provides dynamic calculations, the primary objective of which is to evaluate the structural strength and to determine key dynamic parameters, such as displacements, velocities, and accelerations. These parameters are crucial in assessing how a structure responds to vibrations and ensuring that their values remain within permissible limits—particularly important in scenarios where vibrations may impact human comfort or interfere with the operation of precision equipment, including measuring instruments, high-precision machinery, and equipment used in microelectronics production.

Dr. Levon Gregory Petrosian is a Professor of Structural Engineering and Structural Mechanics.  He received his B.S.C.E. and M.S. degrees from the Armenian National University of Architecture & Construction. He received a Ph.D. from the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) and the degree of Doctor of Technical Science from the Moscow Research Center of Construction, Research Institute of Building Structures (TSNIISK). He received his full education and recognition during the time of the former Soviet Union. Dr. Petrosian has taught undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate structure mechanics, structural dynamics and stability, classes for 22 years.  Currently Dr. Petrosian serves as Senior Director at LNGI Engineering Design & Solutions, LLC.
