Renata Cífková is Professor of Medicine at Charles University in Prague and Head of the Center for Cardiovascular Prevention, Charles University in Prague, First Faculty of Medicine and Thomayer University Hospital, Czech Republic. She earned a PhD in internal medicine with a focus on cardiology at Charles University and completed postdoctoral training at Memorial University in Canada. Her research centres on cardiovascular risk epidemiology, prevention of cardiovascular disease, and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy. She has contributed to major European guidelines and authored or co‑authored over 300 peer‑reviewed publications (h‑index 73). Her achievements have been recognised with numerous honours, including the Alberto Zanchetti Life Achievement Award (2024).
Costas Thomopoulos is Head of the Department of Cardiology at the General Hospital of Athens “Laiko”, Greece. He is a certified Clinical Hypertension Specialist of the Hellenic, European, and American Societies of Hypertension. His expertise includes clinical trial design, meta‑analyses, sleep‑disordered breathing and endothelial dysfunction, and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy. He has held leadership roles within the Hellenic Society of Cardiology and served as Chair of the European Society of Hypertension Working Group “Hypertension in Women”. Dr Thomopoulos has authored or co‑authored more than 200 peer‑reviewed publications and contributed to major textbooks in cardiovascular medicine.
