This book discusses modern approaches to developing trading strategies and operating modes of distributed generation power plants at wind, solar and backup manoeuvrable power plants, as well as energy storage facilities, in market conditions based on the price of electricity purchase and sale and the cost of providing ancillary services for frequency and active power control in the power system. The development of distributed generation sources dependent on wind and solar radiation requires solving a number of issues with optimisation of not only the structure of equipment of such power plants to achieve the minimum cost of electricity production, but also rational allocation of resources, which, together with effective trading strategies, will ensure the economic efficiency of such electricity producers in market conditions. The relevance of this book is stipulated by the need to develop methods and models for optimising the structure of distributed generation power plant equipment in order to minimise the cost of electricity production throughout the entire life cycle and maximise market revenues through an effective trading strategy for selling electricity on the market and providing ancillary services for frequency and active power control in the power system. Particular attention is paid to the development and description of the application of technical and economic models that take into account different trading strategies and operating modes of distributed generation power plants and energy storage facilities. In addition, a method of automatic control of electricity flows is proposed that ensures prompt switching and change of operating modes of the studied power unit, including a controlled transition from synchronous to isolated mode of its operation with the power system. The development of methods and models for determining the optimal structure of equipment for distributed generation power plants and energy storage facilities is an urgent scientific and applied task that contributes to the development of sustainable energy systems and the electricity market.
