As a result, the construction of docks, railways, airports, and transportation hubs and facilities has been increasing day by day. With the advent of the intelligent era, the planning and construction of today's transportation hubs have also entered the age of intelligent construction. Research on railway line planning, the construction of smart docks, and the site selection and construction of transportation hubs has become increasingly important, as it not only concerns transportation efficiency but also affects the safety and cost of infrastructure use. Similarly, with the onset of the information age, intelligent regulation and monitoring have significantly enhanced our management and oversight of transportation infrastructure. Moreover, the construction of buildings has also entered the era of intelligent construction. With the assistance of artificial intelligence and information technology, construction techniques have developed rapidly. As for the updating of facilities along transportation routes from the last century to the present, there are now more stable guarantees and technical means in place. The discussion in this book encompasses four parts: Transportation Railroads and Planning Construction, Freight Terminals and Smart Transport Diversion, Selection of Transportation Stations and Rational Planning, and Thoughts and Practices on Intelligent Transportation Infrastructure. In our reflections on transportation infrastructure, we focus on discussing the routes of future intelligent technology facilities, including building structure and monitoring, as well as the process design of logistics transfers and the optimization of related structures. He is actively taking part in teaching, research, and the practice of structural and earthquake engineering, with emphasis on the response, analysis, and design of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. His main research interests are related to the response of structures to extreme loads focusing on the areas of structural and earthquake engineering with an emphasis on problems of non-linearity and performance evaluation of members, connections, and structures. Seyed Mohammadreza Ghadiri received the bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Iran, and the Ph.D. degree in intelligent transportation systems from the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia, in 2012. He is a multidisciplinary expert with over two decades of experience in conducting diverse projects in engineering, logistics, and business studies. He is currently a Professor and the Chancellor of the Swiss Institute of Management and Innovation (SIMI), Switzerland. He is also the former Dean of the School of Transportation and Logistics, Malaysia University of Science and Technology. During the past years, he has been invited as a keynote speaker and a guest professor by different institutions and event organizers from different countries, including China, Iran, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, France, Vietnam, India, Myanmar, and Nigeria to deliver his speeches, share his research findings, and to train the people.
