This volume provides innovative, interdisciplinary perspectives on sustainable education for a variety of contexts around the world, focusing on both the challenges and solutions for international higher education systems in their respective countries. Chapters engage with a number of disciplines, including education, policy, sustainability studies, and will provide some innovative examples of educational practices that can aid in promoting sustainability in the university context. It offers case studies from higher education systems in the Global South and North, both comparative and prescriptive, to inform higher education systems about how to include sustainability in curriculum development, research and operations. It is unique in its global focus on higher education institutions, and aims to fill regional differences with a more comprehensive understanding of sustainability in educational contexts. The book will offer key perspectives and information to assist the academic, administrative, and policy leaders, as well as educators and researchers, in adopting and improving sustainable education practices within their institutions.
