The practice of neurology is often perceived as daunting by medical students and trainees in the discipline, not least because of the specialist vocabulary used to describe the signs of neurological dysfunction observed in the clinical examination of patients.  This text seeks to define these specialist terms, clearly and succinctly, and to explain, where possible, the localising value of these neurological signs, the underlying neuroscience and neuropathology.  In addition, a brief reference list for further reading and cross references to related signs are also provided for each entry. 

This structured approach to each sign seeks to present information in an easily comprehensible manner, and thus to fill a gap not otherwise supplied in the current market of neurology textbooks.
