Psychological and Developmental Impact of Childhood Trauma on Adult Relationships

Long-Term Interventions, Volume 2

Deepika Chamoli Shahi | Rita Kumar

Psychology / Developmental / General

This two-volume work offers a comprehensive examination of how traumatic childhood experiences shape psychological development and influence adult relationship functioning. Drawing on research from neuropsychology, psychology, neuroscience, and social sciences, it explores how early trauma disrupts perception, emotional regulation, attitudes, and interpersonal skills.
The project emphasizes evidence-based intervention strategies and incorporates therapeutic approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques for managing trauma and relationship challenges. By addressing both vulnerabilities and resilience pathways, it promotes trauma-informed interventions aimed at enhancing relational stability and emotional well-being in survivors. This work is an essential resource for clinicians, scholars, students, and researchers seeking practical insights into the intersection of childhood trauma and adult relationships.
