It highlights innovative material formats such as hydrogels, aerogels, cryogels, foams, and 3D/4D printed systems, emphasizing their functional properties and real-world applications. The contents of this book are divided into three thematic parts. The volume brings together contributions from experts to discuss both fundamental principles and applied research. It addresses emerging trends such as smart responsive systems, self-healing materials, wearable sensors, and diagnostic platforms. The main challenge in the market today, which this book seeks to resolve, is the lack of a thorough scientific reference that systematically addresses all advanced sensing, healthcare, and medical applications using 3D-engineered polysaccharide formulations, despite the availability of numerous books. This book seeks to address gaps in the existing literature by providing a comprehensive resource tailored to diverse key audiences. These include researchers, experts, educational institutions, graduate students, and industry professionals dedicated to designing and fabricating innovative, sustainable materials based on 3D-engineered polysaccharides for smart biomedical applications, with significant potential for future commercialization.

Dr. Mahmoud H.
