The discovery of insulin 100 year back brought in the treatment of diabetes but in real world it is technology that has revolutionized the management of diabetes. The sophisticated devices and learning apps have improved the patients’ learning and knowledge to deal with day-to-day management of diabetes and the associated complications.  It has improved the quality of life and metabolic outcomes.  It has also enhanced the understanding of physicians managing people with diabetes.  In simple words technology has digitalized diabetes and as a result management of diabetes has become simpler.

​Dr. Saket Gupta is an NHS Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology based in Scotland. He undertook training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in the Republic of Ireland and was awarded MD degree by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland for his research in diabetes. His clinical and academic interests include diabetic foot disease and the use of technology in diabetes management.

He has participated in several research projects and has authored publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is involved in medical education, supervising medical students and doctors in training and contributing to teaching programmes. He remains committed to advancing diabetes care through clinical practice, research, education and the integration of emerging technologies in diabetes management.
