It is meant to be a useful tool for students, researchers, and professionals who wish to use analytical methods that are good for the environment while still being efficient, reliable, and accurate.
The book talks about important concepts of green chemistry that can be used in analytical science, like the E-factor, atom economy, and life cycle analysis, which help evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of analytical processes. It discusses the use of green analytical methods and the use eco-friendly solvents like ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents, and water-based systems.
A significant attention is paid to how GAC can be used in India, especially in areas like food safety, pharmaceutical analysis, environmental monitoring, industrial quality control, and forensic science. The book talks about how sustainable analytical methods can help laboratories and businesses follow the rules, cut down on chemical waste, and work more efficiently.
The text also explores environmentally friendly chromatographic and spectroscopic methods, such as new developments in HPLC, GC, and green spectroscopic methods. It focuses on using less solvents, greener reagents, and instruments that use less energy. Discussion about emerging areas like green nanotechnology, biotechnology-based analytical tools, and using artificial intelligence to improve analytical methods. Supercritical fluid extraction, microwave-assisted extraction and solid-phase extraction are all examples of sustainable extraction methods that can be used instead of traditional ones.
By integrating global principles of green analytical chemistry with India-specific innovations and case studies, the book highlights the growing importance of sustainable analytical methodologies in India’s academic, research, and industrial landscape.

Dr. Vidhya Bhusari, Professor at KJEI, Trinity College of Pharmacy, Pune, India.
