This introductory textbook provides basic knowledge of fundamental methodological approaches to qualitative educational research, mainly Bildung. The 'integrative approach' is presented as a research procedure that combines reflections on educational theory with qualitative social research methods. Various methodological approaches to qualitative social research are systematically presented in clearly structured chapters summarizing terms, definitions and applications. Specific examples from research practice illustrate how individual methodological approaches can be used in qualitative educational research.
