He was appointed Honorary Professor at National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2009, and is currently a Research Professor in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal, where he was Founding Chair of Electrical Engineering (1970–1977) and Dean of Engineering and Computer Science (1977–1993). During his tenure, he transformed the Faculty into a research-oriented one.
