He has published more than fifty journal articles and book chapters and has authored, edited, or translated nine books, most recently The Memory of the World: Deep Time, Animality, and Eschatology (University of Minnesota Press, 2024). His work has been translated into French, Italian, Korean, Spanish, and Turkish. He has served as editor of the journals Chiasmi International and Environmental Philosophy, and of the Series in Continental Thought at Ohio University Press. Currently, he codirects the Contributions to Phenomenology series with Springer and is coeditor of their online Encyclopedia of Phenomenology. He serves on the boards of the Center for Advanced Research in Phenomenology, the International Association for Environmental Philosophy, the International Merleau-Ponty Circle, and the Central European Institute of Philosophy. He is leading a project funded by the Mellon Foundation’s Humanities in Place Program on cultural preservation and environmental justice in the community of Africatown, Alabama.
